Gordon A Thompson

British born Gordon is an HR Master’s degree qualified diversely skilled global Human Resource executive known for combining high-level strategic thinking with day-to-day practical solutions that build and develop a world class organization. Over his 32 year career in HR, he has striven to provide excellence in Human Resource Management that contributes measurably to business goals while moving away from the traditional view of HR as the transactional policy police. Currently Gordon serves as an Officer and Director at the HQ of the Americas at the industrial robotics division of global engineering giant, Kawasaki Heavy Industries where he co-leads and supports a culturally diverse management team and work force. “The challenge is to create and sustain an innovative work environment where very real diversity can be embraced to produce tangible results through individual engagement and team work while offering balance and enjoyment for all”

Previous experience in both the US and UK has included HR leadership roles with CSM Worldwide, R.L. Polk, Yellow Pages and Bank of Scotland. His earlier HR days were spent at the Wella Hair care company where he won the UK National Trainer Award and the UK Investor in People Award.
